Intonation can sometimes be very tricky, especially when you are not sure whether it is time to have a rising / falling intonation at the end of your question. :rofl1:
Check this one out:
When you ask WH / H (who, when, where, how, etc.) questions, USE THE FALLING INTONATION.
e.g. How was your day?
(FALLING intonation towards 'day'.)
When you ask YES / NO questions, USE THE RISING INTONATION.
e.g. Do you like the Beatles?
(RISING intonation)
Now, say you use a stative question. This means that you do not follow the normal question word (interrogative) pattern, instead you follow the declarative. In such a case, USE THE RISING INTONATION as a falling intonation may be misinterpreted.
e.g. You like the Beatles?
(This is in a statement form, but it is a question, so the intonation is RISING)
