FIFA World Cup kicks off in South Africa

Jun 11, 2010

The first World Cup on African soil began on June 11, 2010, kicked off by a colourful African-themed ceremony. Before a jubilant crowd at Soccer City, a colourfully dressed cast of African dancers paraded onto the field to start the opening ceremony of the month-long tournament.

I love football and the World Cup is such an event that I don't want to miss watching. Unfortunately, it's not easy watching any sport events on TV anymore. Great sporting events have been so commercialize now a days that unless you have a lot of money for pay-per-view you just have to wait for replays and delayed telecasts. In the good old days major boxing fights, basketball games and the World Cup were shown live for free.

This World Cup I'll be following the games of England, US and Brazil.
