Do we capitalize pronouns referring to God or to Jesus?

I kind of find that disturbing. It's saying that it's out of step with the modern style. Even in written form, everyone seems to want God out. *babble babble*

I haven't come across the "Chicago Manual of Style, 15th ED" so I wouldn't know.

I still write everything that refers to God in capitals though. Do you?

writing that in capitals would help these pronouns be distinguished from the "lesser gods" such as Zeus, Thor, Ormazd, Set, Bathala, among others. now, just because christianity is a major religion, are we going to discriminate against the other religious beliefs?

I personally still capitalize anything referring to God, both when I type and when I write. Well, I at least make sure the first letters are bigger since I write in all caps.

Aye. I see the point. In today's time where equalization and relative thinking is pursued, I guess it's only fitting.

I'm still bent on writing our "God" with a capital though. Perhaps they can write theirs their way, and mine, my way. Seems fair enough.

Yes, I do agree with you glassedeyes. In respect, I would still use the upper case

Hmm... I've noticed that religious writing does capitalize pronouns referring to God and Jesus but I never really did it in writing. The nuns in St. Scholastica (where I studied elementary and high school) didn't seem to mind that my pronouns weren't capitalized, so I never really practiced it...

Anyhow, I wouldn't necessarily say that capitalizing "holy pronouns" is out of modern convention. I mean, there are many styles -- MLA, APA, Harvard, Chicago, Turabian, etc etc. If you're following a particular convention, I guess it's just all about being consistent.

Nice post ctivnan! :victory:

This verse is from "The New King James Version"

Trust in the Lord with all you heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your path.

Proverbs 3:5-6

In the Bible they capitalized it. I'll go check other versions if they capitalize it there too, like in the New International Version or the Modern version.
Hello EC! I miss you! (^_^)

Please stop asking questions like this. It has nothing to do with hockey. A suggestion might be to tape the game and then watch and listen to the song again.
