Let's talk about ... INDEFINITE PRONOUNS :emoticon-7:
Yup, these are the pronouns which refer to unknown person, thing, place. Below are some examples.
EVERYONE, EVERYBODY, EVERYTHING, SOMEONE, SOMEBODY, SOMETHING, ANYONE, ANYBODY, ANYTHING, NO ONE, NOBODY, NOTHING, LITTLE, MANY, SEVERAL, BOTH, FEW
Now, the questions is whether they take the SINGULAR or the PLURAL VERB.
These indefinite pronouns take the SINGULAR form of the verb!
Except for: MANY, SEVERAL, FEW,and BOTH which take the PLURAL form.
e.g. Everybody is excited to watch the bowling tournament.
Someone is at the door.
Doesn't anybody know the meaning of expunge?
Nothing has been unusual these past few days.
Little is known of the boy's whereabouts.
e.g. Many are excited to see MFI win the bowling tournament.
Several people cheer for the winning team.
Few realize how important English is for their theological studies in LST.
Both pray ardently for guidance.
