GERUNDS (V-ing in form that functions as a noun) are used as OBJECTS of certain verbs.
Here's a list of some of the common verbs followed by GERUNDS.
ENJOY
I enjoy watchingAudrey Hepburn's films.
APPRECIATE
I appreciate lookingat Juan Luna's paintings in the museum.
MIND
I don't mind waiting for you.
QUIT (GIVE UP)
Lawrence quit / gave up smoking many times.
FINISH
The class finished doingtheir English exercises on time.
POSTPONE (PUT OFF)
The McNamarra's have postponed / put off travelingto Ireland this week to next week.
SUGGEST
Trish suggested takingAir China instead of Dragon Air.
MENTION
Jack had mentioned visitinghis grandparents before he leaves for Canada.
DELAY
A procrastinator is someone who always delays doingwhat s/he has to do.
