Conjunctions in separate sentences

Normally a conjunction connects two independent clauses into one sentence. However, sometimes a conjunction and its clause can stand alone in:

simple answers e.g. Why did you speak ill of her? - Because I felt like it.

for emphasis e.g. That politician has got to be impeached. Before he does any more damage.

afterthoughts e.g. I hurt her. - But I didn't mean to.

I have a question: Are those clauses consid...Oh wait. I was going to ask if they were considered complete sentences. How silly of me to ask if a clause is a sentence. :perspiring:

But...wait are they? They seemingly are.

Patis is right, you use this for informal writing.

In Informal writing, they are complete sentences, but you need to have a preceding sentence to complete your thought. :ninja1:
