We take a look at hybrid gadgets that were built to multitask.

It's a common misconception that the name 'Frankenstein' refers to the monster, rather than its creator, Victor Frankenstein. The scientist suffers greatly for his desire to play God: the creature he creates from a collection of body parts ultimately destroys him.
Nothing quite so dramatic is in store for the designers of the gadgets featured in our gallery, though many of them have meddled with classic designs, slapping wireless speakers inside rubber ducks and joining radios and toasters together in an unholy marriage of bread and tunes.
Some of these hybrid devices are useful, however, such as a pedometer with an alarm function. Others, like the kitchen clock with scales, are a wee bit odd. But all are fine examples of what we call Frankenstein gadgets - click through our gallery to find out more...
