Yup, there are if you follow the saint clauses!!! :delighted:

Okay, seriously speaking, CLAUSES are clauses because they have a SUBJECT and a VERB.

There are TWO KINDS OF CLAUSES:
INDEPENDENT (AKA: Main Clause) and DEPENDENT (AKA: Subordinate Clause).
Dependent Clauses are: ADJECTIVE CLAUSE, NOUN CLAUSE, ADVERB CLAUSE.
We put these two kinds together to join two or more ideas into one sentence. We do not want to keep repeating the same idea on and on. As in the example below:

(a) The book I read is engaging.
(b) The book is written by C. S. Lewis.

Here you have two short sentences (two independent clauses) with the same subject (THE BOOK). Can we join these two sentences together? Yes, we can. How?
First, look at what is the same. They have the same subject, right? Then, change the The book in sentence (b) to WHICH. After that, place the entire dependent clause RIGHT AFTER THE BOOK. Why? Because the dependent clause describes the book and it MUST ALWAYS FOLLOW THE NOUN (The book) IT MODIFIES DIRECTLY.

The book which is written by C.S. Lewis is engaging.

This is joined using an Adjective Clause: which is written by C.S, Lewis, and an Independent Clause: This book is engaging.

You see, the independent clause is like a complete sentence. A complete sentence has a clear and logical thought, right?
Can you clearly understand the meaning of the independent clause in the example?

On the contrary, the dependent clause is an incomplete sentence.
Can you understand the adjective clause on its own? No. Of course not. So, you need the help of the independent clause to make a complete thought.

Are you up for a challenge? Check this out!

How about dissecting this sentence into two? Like (a) and (b) above.

Paulo Coelho, who wrote the Alchemist, is from Brazil.

:drummer: :rofl1: See yah mates!!! I'll wait for your answers!!! :drummer:
