Where do we place some punctuations when quoting? Inside or outside the quotation marks ("speech marks" in British English)
Check out the attachment for more details.

You know, there's actually a widespread debate in linguistic circles about this one. I've read many journal articles on Linguistics and some authors place their punctuations either inside or outside quotation marks.
I guess the best advice is: take your pick, then be consistent

In my case, I generally use punctuations after the quotes " ... ".

I agree, being consistent is one good advice, Maria_maria!

Hello, hello, hello everyone! Hi Cath!
I agree with Maria_maria. Consistency is the key. Where to put the punctuation mark when quoting something often depends on the style guide one is using. Most often, I use the Chicago Manual of Style, so the punctuation is always inside the quotation marks, except for semi-colon and colon.
Other style guides have other rules, so it really depends. Just be consistent, as Maria_maria has said. :-)
