Okay, since you have not posted any lists, I am taking the liberty of posting a list of verbs followed by infinitives. :laugh1:

Now, you remember that an infinitive (to + simple verb form) is a noun, right? :)

Here is a list of verbs commonly followed by infinitives. Check 'em out!

HOPE
e.g. I hope to see the final bowling tournament'.

PLAN
e.g. Cath plans to visit her sister this October.

INTEND
e.g. John intends to keep up the good work!

SEEM
e.g. Pinky seems to be enjoying the English Coffee site.

APPEAR
e.g. Michael appeared to be upset as we left the room.

WANT
e.g. Heide wants to visit France next year.

NEED
e.g. The sisters need to talk about their surprise party for their parents.

PROMISE
e.g. Couples promise to be faithful to one another.

OFFER
e.g. The shaman offered to cure her sickness.

EXPECT TO
e.g. People expect other people to live up to their expectations.

Hope this thread helps you in some way or another. :bowling_laugh:

A BE verb can also precede infinitives.

e.g. This dress is to die for!

TO BE or not TO BE?
Is it to be or not to be? (full form)

WANT
e.g. Heide wants to visit France next year.
I want TO BECOME a doctor someday.
