What is the difference between TO KNOW and TO FIND OUT? Is there any?

Which is correct, (a) or (b)?


(a) I went to the information office to see if I could know how to go to Boracay.

(b) I went to the information office to see if I could find out how to go to Boracay.



When you obtain new facts or information, you FIND OUT something, so B is correct.
