Some English words may be spelled 'O' but pronounced as /a:/ like a father.
There's just one thing you have to remember:
When 'O' is followed by a double consonant, it is usually (not always) pronounced /a:/.
:itshere:
e.g.
coffee /ka:fi/
toffee /ta:fi/
Bobby /ba:bi/
Ofcourse, we do not say the word roll as /ra:l/. There will always be exceptions as there are no clear and definite rules when it comes of pronunciation of English vowels.
How about some more examples from you, guys?
