Whether it is academic, given by an organization, company or insitution, or an award given by your family, I think honors/awards/appreciations are worth sharing here. I'm sure a lot of coffeers here would like to share their successes and relive those magic moments. Tell us the way you felt when you received those awards. :applaud:
Don't be shy. Let's be proud of everybody's successes! :thatsit:
You can share as many as you like, or choose the best ones (for those who are awards rockers!) :applaud:
So, fellow EC member, I'm sure you got tons to share!

I had my share of awards, from acads to girl scouting. But I felt really proud when I received my medals in the elementary for being salutatorian in class. The most important thing to me then was my mama's pride and happiness every time she stepped on that stage. Well, forget about high school and college. Bummer days! Hahaha! But graduate school is something else. I managed to get this average -- enough to earn me UP's "Gawad Chanselor" (to translate, I think it is Chancellor's Award) for one itsy bitsy sem. Hmm.. I thought, not bad at all.
How about you, guys?

Does top poster 100 award in EC count? I've got eleven awards so far. And also a few highscores in arcade that, for some reason, the other members keep on stealing. LOL
I've also received a few medals here and there back in elementary and high school.

I was valedictorian in elementary. I also received other 3 medals. All awards that I've received during my elementary graduation were important to me 'coz it was the last year that my father was there while I was accepting my awards. I saw in his eyes how proud he was. I remember a line in my valedictory speech where I really cried because I was thinking of how my parents gave my needs. I remember a night my parents were talking about me being sent to a national girl scout camping in Cebu City. The cost of that camping was equivalent to our 3 months or so food expenses. We didn't have money then. We were really poor (We're rich now.LOL). They agreed that they'll send me to Cebu 'coz it's very important for me. They didn't know that I was awake so I told them that it's not really important for me and I will still be a valedictorian without it(curricular activities were included in computing grades, right?).
When I was teaching, I was awarded as best teacher but I wasn't there to accept it (my advisory class accepted/kept it for me) because I'm already working here. It was awarded a month after I came here. Haha! It's also important for me coz it reflects the way I teach and deal with my students.

Say not so! There maybe a girl here for me and I don't want incest.
To stay on topic, can you tell me about the Gawad Chancellor award you got?

i think if you get an average 1.25 or higher for a sem with a minimum of 15 units for MA, then you get that coveted Gawad Chancellor. then you get to walk up the stage for the awarding. such an ego booster!
:summer::summer::summer:
Congratulations to all the awardees! (including those who haven't posted their awards)
Someone said in another thread that Coffeers are brainy! (and racz agreed...lol)

I didn't receive any formal award during my elementary years but gained recognition of my teachers and peers because inspite of coming to school without anything( no notebooks, no crayons, no pencils, no books , just myself) I managed to stay in the top 10.
In high school it was a bit different. I got First Honorable Mention ( or Second I'm not so sure) , a gold medal for the Gerry Roxas Leadership Award and a Citation for topping the NCEE in our district.
I got 'kalabasa' award in my college days. I mean nothing.:happy0088:

Wow, pinoypower! That's something -- coming to school like that and still be in the top 10.
I remember my NCEE. I was really disappointed I didn't get 99%+. LOL! That was the score I wanted to have! hehehe!

It's unbelievable but true and I didn't do it on purpose. My parents were just to poor to buy my school needs. Anyway my classmates were more than willing to provide for my needs because I let them copy from me during exams. For speaking strange English words far too advance for elementary level I earned the monicker 'Psycho' which is how they still remember me till now. I must make it clear to all Coffeers that I'm very much sane and the namecalling was just for fun.:happy0088:
