SHOULD, OUGHT TO , and HAD BETTER :mypleasure:

We use SHOULD and OUGHT TO to ask for or to give advice, to say what is the correct or best thing to do.

e.g.
What should we do about this situation?
- We should respond to their queries as soon as possible.

We use OUGHT TO when we are talking about a duty or a law.

e.g.
I had a car accident a week ago and they took the impounded truck. What should I do?
You ought to talk with a lawyer.

We use HAD BETTER to give advice, to say what is the best thing to do.

e.g. We had better leave early to beat the traffic.
