i just want to share with u a course that i hated at first because it required me to be spontaneous and confident with the way i speak before a number of people in the crowd.

but after a series of embarassing moments - ive realized that it is indeed an easy tool to develop one's confidence and spontaneity.

here's the link..

for those who are teaching english.. u might find this of help.

also for other teachers who would easily forget names.. there is one module where you are asked to associate your name to a famous person, event or place where your name was used or similar.. and his/her similarity to you as a person..

i.e. MAUREEN - the name maureen is associated with singer Maureen Mccormick, who was had cases of bolemia.. like her, i am also figure conscious but ive learned that only proper diet and exercise could help and not anything else.

aside from that, maureen is also a french(?) word meaning LITTLE MARY.
Like MARY, i am a mother and i am hoping i could live up to her doings.. :)

hope u learn something.
please check the page.

This is so helpful Mau! :approve:

I used to read a book of Carnegie's when I was young and that's how I fell in love with public speaking. :inlove2: Now, I must say that I have forgotten most of the things that I read and this course seems to be of much help. There's always a space for learning and re-learning something!

:thankyou: And I love that you shared the meaning of your name and how you associated it with famous figures. That's just given me an idea to use the same technique when students introduce themselves during the first day. :groove:

I found this Dale Carnegie training site in Manila: http://www.philippines.dalecarnegie.com/contact.jsp

I even took that course way back in 2005 and it did help me change the way I relate with people. Before I used to be a very reserve and quiet person. Now I find fun in listening to people's stories and engaging my friends in an interesting dialogue. I do recommend that to EVERYONE.
