One word that either best describes your day, is very significant, or redundant within your 24 hour life.Tell us how or why. It can be good or bad, and it can also be in any form.
Here's mine!
risk-to expose to the chance of injury or loss
I haven't had any serious relationship for the past 2 years now. I had suitors (and flings) but nothing serious. Why? I'm fed up with commitments. I'm tired of the same cycle of falling in and out of love, and getting hurt in the end. So I decided to stay single and just be free. But then, there is this guy who's been courting me for a while now. He's very serious about it, and as days go by, I'm becoming more and more excited about the feeling of being in a relationship again, having someone who cares about you, and accepts you for who you are, no questions asked. I was afarid of risking my feelings again. But there is this something inside me that tells me to go ahead and be happy, just enjoy the moment, because if you don't take the risk, you won't know if it's going to work or not. Take the risk. All throughout the day, this word keeps on popping out of my mind. Should I go ahead and take it?

Interesting thread! :music-smiley-7524:
Okay, let's see... for me it's patience - the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting angry or upset.
I remember my dad telling me that "patience is a virtue" and I have tried hard to live according to that. Sometimes I am patient and at other time, I am just not! Right now, I am waiting for my doctor yet again! My patience is really put to the test every time I come for a consultation!:workout:(Why not change doctors? Yeah, why not? Well, I have created a bond with this one and I don't wanna have to create another one. I guess I just have to learn to be awfully patient.) I guess now I kinda get why PATIENT is the term used for people like me seeking medical assistance.
I am still trying to understand why this doctor comes up with a schedule that she does not follow... it just sucks!
Oh well, such is life! :loool: Patience is indeed a virtue that I still need to terribly work on, especially when it comes to schedules or appointments!

maximize-to make the greatest or fullest use of
I woke up at 2:30am. My shift starts at 3am. I have to maximize 30 minutes to take a quick bath, dress up, and walk to work. I made it in time. When I arrived at work, it was chaotic. some people from our shift were assigned to do inbound sales today (we do outbound sales, we call people and bug them to buy new phones.. hahaha!) because the company released a new phone and customers are going crazy calling us and ordering it. So the company maximized the peak time by utilizing the maximum number of people available to receive the calls. I sold 5 units and 11 accesories, when I usually just make 1-2 units a day and 1-2 accesories a week!I didn't take long breaks, I maximized the opportunity to make easy sales without persuading customers, because they are the ones who ask for it this time! Maximize the leads, we offer all the possible add-on services in every call. It's even included in our sales pitch. ".. make sure that you are maximizing your services.." after that, I was so sleepy I went home right away and maximized the rest of the day in deep slumber ^_^..
thank you for sharing your word...

contentment- to be satisfied for what you have, to be happy
Upon arriving home, my children were asking me why does their schoolmate have this and that. Asking for the increase of their "baons", (for the foods sold in their canteen went up high too), and the salary I am receiving is just the same as it was before, what will I do, i want to give them the best but for the meantime I have to teach them to be contented with what they have.
Anyways being happy is being contented. :there:

independence-The capacity to manage one's own affairs, make one's own judgments, and provide for oneself; liberty, freedom
I had a chit-chat with room mate about my application in our company 2 years ago. How I independently managed to walk in the recruitment area with no work experience but a lot of courage, determination and pure luck. My transition from being dependent to independent was just 2 days: I dropped all my subjects in college and said good bye to my schoolamtes Feb. 20, 2006, then Feb 22, 2006 I was already being interviewed for my job. A month after I started my training. I was away from my mom for the first time, now independent and alone. I lived with some relatives, until such time that I'm already stable and can pay for my own rent. Now whe've been renting for more than 8 months now. We're both independent women, living in the big city, working for our families and ourselves. We decide what to do, choose where to go and pick what to eat. At our age, being independent is such a responsibility. I'm sure our moms are proud of us. :yey:
Another thing about the same word, is about the Philippine Independence. We have been studying History since elementary days, teachers discuss to us what happened till we got our freedom. But have we realized why we have this topic every year? The sense of history is for us to know what were the mistakes done before and prevent it from happening again. Same sense applies to our lives, don't make the same mistake twice. Learn from your mistakes.
Oh, last thing, July 4 is US Independence Day, we don't have work weee!:music-smiley-7524:

well, maybe your doctor enjoys her being indispensable so she tends to take her patients for granted; or maybe she has accepted tasks beyond her being able to dispose of them efficiently and on time.
at least, she is teaching you lessons on patience. and patience is a good virtue to embrace, right?:heartbeat:

relaxation-to make less tense, rigid, or firm; make lax: to relax the muscles.
Well I'm spending my relaxation this holiday. Spending time with my family and do the things that I heven't do when spending in my working days..
