Hi mandy,

Could that be liaisons?
Liaisons - the pronunciation of an otherwise absent consonant sound at the end of the first of two consecutive words the second of which begins with a vowel sound and follows without pause (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/liaison)

From what I know, this is a part of the American Accent Training in some call center companies.

Some examples are:

my name is Ed - my nay mi Zed
LA - eh lay
go away - gowaway

Some extremes:

What's your name? - Whacher name?
Can't you do it? - canchoo do it?
Did you like it? - Didja like it?
Who's your friend? - hoozhier friend?

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for.

Could it be mad gab phrases?

Actually, it's called a reduction.

Liasion is what happens when we connect the sounds we use to form sentences. Kai28 has very nicely given us examples!

The result of the liason, which is what you asked about, is a reduction
