Hey there, gAn. Thanks for answering this post.

1. correct
2. The correct answer is provides. Expressions of time, money and distance usually take a singular verb, as in:

Five to six hours of sleep is enough for me.
Twenty-five dollars is the usual airport bus fare to any provincial destination.
Two kilometers is not too far to walk.

3. correct

A number of is an expression of quantity which means a lot of, as contrasted to the number which functions as subject of the sentence. Let's compare:

A number of people in the company plan to attend the conference.
The number of people in this company is twenty.

4. The correct answer is appears.

Expressions of quantity followed by of + a specific noun follow definite rules on plurality as:

all, most, some, any + of + specific plural count noun or noncount noun, for example:

count: Most of those data appear to be well researched.
noncount: Most of that information appears to be well researched.

many, (a) few, several, both, two, one + of + specific plural count noun, for example:

Many of those data appear to be well researched.

much, a little + of + specific noncount noun, for example:

Much of that information appears to be well researched.

5. the correct answer is concerns because it would follow the same rules given above. News is a noncount noun. And you are right for deleting about.

I hope this information helps.
