Hello friends,
This post would help you understand the differences between common nouns and proper nouns.
Common Nouns:- These are those words which are used to name general items like boy, girl, mobile, school, park etc.
Proper Nouns:- These are those words which are used to name specific items like Jimmy,New York,Nokia N95,John etc.
Example sentences
1- Boys are playing.
(In this sentence, boys is an example of common noun as it cannot identify a specific thing.)
2- Julie is playing.
(In this sentence, Julie is an example of proper noun as it identifies a specific thing)
Thanks
