View Full Version : What coffee shop do you find cozy?
What coffee shop do you find cozy, that's nice to stick around with friends?
:groove:
Hey now cmo,
Actually, I was kind of limited here.
I've never heard of Figaro or UCC and I've never seen a Seattle's Best around here,
(and seeing as I brew Starbucks at home - zing; :bounce:); this made my choice
really easy. :D

Hello Lasher,
I think Figaro is just a Filipino Coffee shop and may not be international yet. UCC is a Japanese coffee shop.
I'm not sure about Seattle's Best, how popular they are in different countries.
I know there are many other coffee shops around and I may do another survey about it.
In the meantime, enjoy your coffee!
:coffeedrink:
I'd have to say Seattle's best because they have good service and are nice,
I choose it over Starbucks because they always have the volatile homeless man in the back of their cofee house, and all starbucks aren't as homey as some peoples favorite and local cofee houses
figaro = cabalen...
UCC = is japanese
Seattle's? = here in the philippines? never thought this one existed till now...
I think one competition is rising fast and its McDonald's....
Dunkin' Donuts have been serving good coffee cups for some time before coffee shops dominated the market...
Trivia: The Dunkin' Donut Coffee is not bland... its actually a little sweet... try it without donuts

I chose Starbucks..main reason because for the fact that everything in there just goes perfectly well, from the moment you walk in you kinda know what u already want even before you order it.
Ive never been to Figaro or that other one that starts with a U..whatever that is.
anyway,Seattle's Best is not so ok here in our place, maybe for one reason..its boring and yeah the location of the cafe suits people in suits who's into the morning coffee on the way to work or a WiFi moment to do a job,for short that place just doesnt really work for normal stand out people who just wants to hang out with friends, but maybe.just maybe, since they call it Seattle's Best..people from that place myt actually think it is.

I chose Starbucks because it's easier to find here in Makati and I think that because it's so common more people are accustomed to it. I like Figaro and Seattle's best though. but I've never heard of UCC, I don't think they've branched out yet. but My favorite is still Starbucks but only because of familiarity. and yes, this is coming from a 13-year-old who isn't even supposed to be drinking coffee.

It'll just be my third time to try Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf here on Friday. I haven't really explored it, so I'm excited about meeting up on Friday. I hope you can help me with which drinks are really good.
What I do know is that Coffee Bean is quite popular in Singapore and serve good breakfast at the airport. :BOWL:

Starbucks is my fave, mainly because I have GCs, courtesy of my brother. LOL!
I like Coffee Bean, too!
How about The Coffee Experience? I like their vanilla frap... :-)

I live in Venezuela... here those coffee shops donīt exist, but when I go to USA I go tu Starbucks and Seattles Best, I had never heard of the other two. I went to Orlando a couple of months ago and I discovered a really great tea shop called Teavana, itīs great! You should all go.

Unfortunately, we don't have Teavana here in the Philippines yet. If it does branch out, I'll try it out! I like tea latte a lot! :happy0088: How about you?
My husband and I used to hang out at Figaro more often than Starbucks and Seattle's Best. Maybe UCC opened when we already transfered here in Naga because I haven't heard of it. But here at home , I enjoy Nescafe. Heehee.

UCC is a Japanese brand and they also have good coffee! It's worth a try! :cat-smi:
hello ctivnan,
where is UCC located? Do they sell grounded coffee beans so we can just brew them at home? Maybe, I will drop by that place, if and when I have the time.I am planning to go to Manila in sometime in April. My son wants to see the newly opened oceanarium. It would be cheaper to see this here than go to HongKong.

That'll be great! There's UCC in the Mall of Asia, SM North's The Block, Tomas Morato St. (near Roces), Quezon City. I'm not sure if they sell freshly ground coffee beans, but they I know they sell instant coffee products.
Enjoy your oceanarium and UCC visit. :Bunny Smiley 6088:

:applaud::applaud::applaud: love, love love starbucks!!! expensive but worth it!
and the atmosphere? great! sweet fragrant coffee... mouth-watering goodies... and most importantly, you can order "1 cup of chino" (hehehe!!! :sign_lol:) and you can stay the whole day without this uneasy feeling that you already have multiple stab wounds from dagger looks and your head could very well be the next interesting spot for the guard's target shooting... :sign_lol: :summer:
I prefer local coffee shops, but I am always drawn to Starbucks.
Starbucks wins again,
what do they have just higher quality coffee and a cosy environment right?
everyone believes that right?
as for my my favorite coffee place is english coffee

I like Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. I find Starbucks coffee too bitter. Good coffee will give you that great coffee flavor without bitterness :)

I'd have to agree with you. I leike CBTL, then SBC... I also love UCC, unfortunately, there aren't as many budding branches as Starbucks... my last option is Starbucks...

I voted for Figaro because I've never been to UCC and Seattle's Best, and something about Starbuko (my pet name for that shop. heheh) just intimidates me for some inexplicable reason. (However, I've won two free drinks at Starbucks on separate occasions via that "customer voice" survey thingy that they have. So that shop has a special place in my heart.)

I agree with q_sharon on this. Coffee Bean is cozy and also serves great tea. ^^ I do not frequent these shops as there are some nice little ones here in the UP Teacher's Village area. One of them recently went out of business (Coffee Library), along Maginhawa Street (sob).
I've also tried the coffee at Gloria Jeans. ^^ CMO, hope you'd also consider including this one in part 2 of your survey.
:newbie: hope we can be friends
