I need some time in my life away from the world,
thinking of my time spent,
I could just forgive and forget,
but fools luck runs like fools gold,
another option, another tragedy,
waiting to unfold,

my arm hangs like a winter trees limb,
bracing for a chill that kills within,
every winter lasts longer,
than I'm prepared to live,

my frustration builds up likes a snowstorm,
I wonder when,
life will ever smile back at me again,

what I need in this season,
is not snowglobes or coats,
not hot chocolate, or snowrides,

you see I'm at a pivotal point in my life,
I need Jesus, like a winter tree needs its leaves.

Hello Erik,

I think all of us need to retreat once in awhile to see where we are, how we are doing in our life, whether we are living fully our life.

That's a good call!!!

thanks cmo, the more I write the closer I get to my own flaws, abilities,
and everything, I'm not a drama King, when I put it down it comes from a defenite place in me,
and evaluating everything, I ddin't put in this poem how blessed I feel in the other poem I wrote today that came out,

This poem is so timely! Christmas is just around the corner and for those who see the importance of this season, they tend to look within themselves and find time to reflect on what's really important.

I am no religious, but I know that Jesus is my big brother and there is a certain calmness that he can only give.

Your poem, especially the last two lines, has inspired me to look beyond the Christmas carols, decors, and the fuss about gifts... It is one of those moments when I should stop and reflect on what's been happening in my life and what I can do to make it better.

:thankyou: :xmas:

ctivnan, thats a very good realisation, even in poetry I try to evaluate what part of me said this,
but with it having so many good effects, it makes it worthwhile, allot of people never find where their poetry links to themselves or effects others at all,
reading your comments so many times, makes me stick to being how I am,
so you have a good effect on me as well
