Wait a minute, do you mean to say 'a board game' or 'a boring game'?

When we want to describe the cause of our feeling, we use the PRESENT PARTICIPLE (VERB - ING) form.

e.g. I watched a boring game last night.
The game I watched looks boring.
The directions Erin gave was confusing.

When we want to describe our feeling, we use the PAST PARTICIPLE form NOT the PAST form, okay?

e.g. I was bored last night.
Lance seems bored after watching the game.
Lisa was confused after hearing Erin's directions.

You see, these forms (bored, boring; confused, confusing) may look like a verb to an untrained eye, BUT THEY ARE NOT! They ONLY LOOK LIKE VERB FORMS, BUT THEY ARE ACTUALLY USED AS ADJECTIVES, PARTICIPIAL ADJECTIVES, TO BE EXACT!!!

You may also notice that these adjectives are preceded by be-verbs and linking verbs.

So now, can a game be bored? You tell me! ;)

For more info on the parts of the verbs, go to the thread on Verbs and tenses.
