What are sugar plums and what are visions of sugar plums?

A sugar plum is a piece of candy that is made of sugar and shaped in a small round or oval shape. (see picture below)

Sugar plums are widely associated with Christmas, through cultural phenomena such as the Sugar Plum Fairy in 'The Nutcracker', as well as the line "Visions of sugar plums danced in their heads," from 'A Visit from St. Nicholas', better known as "Twas the Night Before Christmas."

Hey now cmo and coffeers,

It's just as MsC explained, :BU:

Sugar plums is a line out of "A Visit with Saint Nick."

The children in the story/poem had "visions" (dreaming) of this candied sweet in their heads while sleeping.....

I was just wondering if everybody was having sweet dreams of Christmas.....:xmas:

Thank you, MsC, for the definition of this candied delight and my appologies to all for any confusions this morning - well, my morning anyway....:)
