These abbreviations are most often used in reports, software documentation, meeting minutes or memos.


DOB - "date of birth"

This is often required when personal information is requested, such as on forms.

Very recently I chanced upon TBA in a project proposal and I was wondering the meaning. I could not resist and asked the one who prepared the proposal and he said "TO BE ANNOUNCED".

I told him that our client may take time also to figure out the meaning of TBA if we do not put legend at the bottom of the page.
