e.g. Many churches and houses in the Philippines have creches during the Christmas season.

Creche also means a place where small children can be looked after while their parents are working or doing something else.


I encountered this word when my friend told me that she leaves her son in creche everytime she goes to work.

Yes, in Portugues, Kindergarten is called "creche", same spelling!!! :music-smiley-7524:
