Who Created Alphabet?
For thousand of years, people drew pictures, creating a symbol -like drawing of the sun- to stand for an object or an idea. The ancient Egyptians and other Middle Eastern people were the first to communicate this way. That was about 5,000 years ago. About 3,000 years ago, the Greeks had a complete alphabet. The Greek alphabet was further changed by the Romans in the first century A.D. It's the history in the word "alphabet". It comes from the first two letters of the Greek alphabet, alpha and beta.
