1. Sugar causes blood glucose to spike and plummet. Unstable blood sugar often leads to mood swings, fatigue, headaches and cravings for more sugar.

2. Sugar increases the risk of obesity, diabetes and heart disease.

3. Sugar interferes with immune system, as bacteria and yeast feed on sugar.

4. A high-sugar diet often results in chromium deficiency. Chromium helps regulate blood sugar.

5. Sugar accelerates aging.Some of the sugar you consume, after heating your bloodstream, ends up attaching itself to proteins, in a process called glycation. The more sugar in your blood, the faster the loss of elasticity found in the aging body tissues.

6. Sugar causes tooth decay.

7. Sugar can cause gum disease, which can lead to heart disease.

8. Sugar affects behavior and cognition of children.

9. Sugar increases stress.

10. Sugar takes the place of important nutrients.

q_sharon, it looks like we should avoid having sugar at all in order to have a healthy living.

But I bought last year some "muscovado" (cane sugar) because its said to be healthy and does not cause problems to us.

Now, I'm not sure if we should also avoid the muscovado sugar... :eek1:

In my :coffee1: I always put lots of sugar!!! :OOPS:

:crying: I like muscovado sugar!!! Now I have to cut down on it in my :coffee1:? :crying:

well i always knew sugar was bad for you but i didnt know it increased stress i thought it helped stress as it makes you more hyper so you would be more happy obviously im wrong lol
