POLITICAL EXPRESSIONS

Grass Roots
- the most basic level of support in an organization or a party.

Maiden Speech
- the first formal speech made by a member of a parliament.

On the Stump
- on the road, campaigning for support and votes.

Political Football
- a subject that is hotly debated but never solved, such as immigration.

Pork Barrel
- the use of public money for questionable projects.

Spin Doctor
- a public relations specialist who manages a politician's image.

I find very political the expressions: "First world, Second world, Third world countries".

I think:
First world -->developed countries
Second world-->new term about countries from Eastern Europe
Third world-->former colonial and developing countries.
