View Full Version : It is to live like flowers ...

In an ancient Buddhist monastery, a young monk asked his master, "What can I do not to get bored? Some people talk too much, others are ignorant; some others are indifferent.... I hate those who are liars ... I suffer with those who are slandered..."

"So live like flowers!" said the master.

"How is it to live like flowers?" asked the young monk.

"Look at the flowers," said the master, pointing to the lilies which are growing in the garden, "they are born from the dung. However, they are pure and fragrant. They take from the bad-smelling dung all which are useful and wholesome... but they don't allow the acidity of the soil to smear the freshness of their petals. It is alright to feel anguish from your own guilt, but it isn't wise to allow the vices of others to disturb you. The fault is theirs, not yours. If these aren't yours, there is no reason for annoyance."

"So exercise the virtue of rejecting all evil which comes from outside."

Yes, she is the one. I already communicated with her and told her that I saw her name in the site.

Sr. Eloisa is very active in helping organizing the Brazilian gathering in the Philippines.

q_sharom, the world is very small, you see :) :) :)
