In this modern world that we live in, more and more people, both men and women, from different parts of the world work together. The English language has had a lot of change in being gender-sensitive and non-discriminatory in its terms. Nowadays, there is a special awareness of Inclusive and Non-inclusive Language.
Non-inclusive language is language that may be interpreted as derogatory, sexist, or racist.
e.g. stewardess, cleaning lady
Inclusive language helps to create a more positive work climate, as it is neutral and does not stereotype or offend anybody.
e.g. flight attendant, office cleaner
What is your stand on the need to use inclusive language rather than non-inclusive?
