When I buy what should I consider?

humanrain2k

I consider weight...

Me, I bought a racket that is not heavy and also not too light in my hand.

I saw in the sports shop long time ago that a racket can cost from P500 to P10,000.

The lighter, the more expensive they said. Wow!

:smilie1:

Sir, for me, weight is the main thing also. I had 2 rackets before with the same weight (light) and the second raquet costs around 2.5k. It's not Yonex, but it will do for me. If the raquet is too heavy, your arms will be sore and just lifting the racket will be a hard task already.

If so, we have two options here. There are 2 courts near our area in Guevent. In Producers Market and in Starmall. But the courts in Starmall lack the facilities to have a good game. Any other suggestions where can we play?

Sorry for the delay, folks. Been really busy with work and field work here.

For those who would want to play badminton, please bear with me as this is the first time I will organize playing dates and courts for those who would want to play.

i would need inputs from you guys with regards to the court locations and fees that we will approve with.

1. Location of the court that we would like to play in. At present, there are several courts near Guevent that we can play: V8 and Metro Badminton. Metro badminton is member only (i think) court and the rental fee is quite expensive. V8 is fairly priced but the court conditions, I leave it to you to decide if it's okay with you guys or not. Suggestions are very much open here.

2. Budget. The pricing depends on the court availability and facilities. Suggestions aare open here also.

3. Schedule. What day of the week can we set as our regular playing day and what time.

So far, those are the main concerns that I can think of. If you have any suggestions, please do submit them as I need every ounce of help here.

Thanks people!!! :victory:

As I have seen in some local badminton sites, let us try their way of posting a game schedule.

With the permission of the Web Administrator, we can create a thread for the schedule of games per week. And from there, I can post the schedule of the games and where is it going to be held. And also, make a list there so that people who would want to play will put themselves in the list so we may have an idea on the number of people playing and how will we split the payment for the court rental fee.

Comments, please?:mypleasure:

The way I see, we are so busy towards the end of the year. It's almost Christmas and we are not ready yet to some many things.

Just a while ago the Monfort Group discussed on what to do for Kriss Kringle and it coincides with Dec 21 Christmas EB.

That's understandable. Anyway, let's start the activities after the holidays. After all the eating and drinking during X-Mas and New Year, we should release the holiday toxins with sports.

Happy holidays to everyone!!! :xmas:

EVoNa,

Since volunteers for weeks days are scarce, let's see if we get some more players on Saturdays. Maybe after 5pm? What do you think?

I saw in a post that neeruam is interested but she prefers on weekends.

I also thought that for weekdays, in case we play, I have to bring a big bag for the sports wear aside from my usual big office bag.

No wonder sometimes I see you is a very big backpack bag, hehe

neeruam, I think we have considered that venue and it seems good. See evona's note I pasted here: (http://english-coffee.com/showthread.php?t=607&page=2)

I just got off the phone with Metro Badminton. They are located along Pioneer Ave. in Mandaluyong. If you are along Boni Ave. going East through the Boni tunnel, it's on the right side after exiting the tunnel, just in front of the Legend hotel(?). The entrance is the one usually being used as a U-turn point for vehicles going back to EDSA.

The rates are almost the same as Smashroom. The taraflex courts are P250/hour plus P50 per person. Now, as far as reservations is concerned, there is no reservation at Metro Badminton. We have to call them on the day that we are going to play and reserve the court. The court opens at 6AM and is already accepting reservations at that time.

On the other hand, Smashroom can accept advanced reservations with a 50% downpayment.

So, what do you think folks?

P135 per person? Or per court, per hour?

Sorry for the questions but I am interested in alternative places.

In Sheridan, from 630am to 630pm, they only charge P50 per 2 hours per player.

But after 630pm, they charge P250/2 hours plus P50 per player.:happy0141:

Hello there! I know how to play badminton but not really good at it yet. I'd rather love to play table tennis. I play at the PNP Crame, San Juan. I was able to visit the Metro Badminton along Pioneer St. near Robinson's Mall but it was in the year 2006 wherein my friends and I played table tennis there.
Is the table still there? But the rate then was expensive at p100/ hour.
I will try to watch your games some time.

You're most welcome to join us, Lyn! :superhappy: I'm still a beginner in playing badminton. ^^ We have Evona who is very kind to coach us!

We play at Sheridan Badminton Center along Sheridan St. The rate is not expensive there and the courts are good!

I haven't seen any tables for table tennis there. I'll check it out this Sunday if they have.

Looking forward to seeing you there soon! :Cat Smiley 6117:

How much is the fee? Hope we could play also someday. By the way nice forum!

Hi rhonzky21, welcome!

For a month already we are playing on Sundays at Sheridan Badminton from 930am to 1130am.

In your case if you wish to stay longer and play with some other players it's possible.

The fee is just P50 for 2 hours. No court fee during the day. As far as you are 2 or more, you can have a court for you if reserved or available.

Hopefully you can join us!!!! :DANCER:
