View Full Version : Recipes?
One of the assignment my English teacher gave me was to prepare a simple recipe and make sure that anyone would be able to follow and cook based on my recipe.
I tried hard but I learned a lot from there: new words, directions and clear instructions.
Wow, my suggestion is to have a forum for recipes (any) under healthy living:cheers:
Will it be helpful in both ways: learning and having a good taste of it? :groove:
Your comments pls! :group_ok:
Hey now cmo,..:hey:
Healthy living and recipes sounds like a winning combo to me....

Hello cmo!
I think having a forum on recipes will be very interesting! :happy0141:
It's a good way of teaching "instructions: giving and following" for an English class. Culture also plays a good part because students are able to share about themselves and their countries. :groove: You had a good teacher, cmo!
This will also be a venue for us to exchange recipes and learn something new!!!
This is a brilliant idea, cmo!!!! :groove:

Hey, just a bit info..
A call center in the Philippines asked an applicant "on how to fry an egg".. I guess, he asked this to test the knowledge of an applicant on the English language (such as grammar usage, correct pronunciation, right choice of word).. So having recipe in here will really help us to learn the language

:cheers:I love recipes! Don't we just love mixed drinks? Well, I got one to share with you, my dear coffeers! And a bit of history about this drink. Cheers!!!
DAIQUIRI
The Daiquiri is thought to have been developed in the late 1800's in Cuba as a medicinal treatment for malaria. Today it is enjoyed as a light cocktail and can be blended for a Frozen Daiquiri.
Ingredients:
• 1/2 oz light rum
• 3/4 oz lime juice
• 1/4 oz sugar syrup
Preparation:
1. Pour the light rum, lime juice and sugar syrup into a shaker with ice cubes.
2. Shake well.
3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

I love cooking and I love trying new recipes. I usually buy recipe book and magazines. I will surely share the recipes I have tried and tasted great.
However, having no formal training in cooking, I have encountered "never-heard" ingredients all the time, or yet the ingredients listed have other names. I hope that those who will contribute recipes will also indicate the other so-called names of the ingredients, or maybe the brand samples, etc.
'bout the DAIQUIRI drinks, what kind of rum can I use. Is local brand okey? Oh.. I'm really glad because making cocktail drinks and beverages is my schedule this February and March.

College Pizza
ingredients
pan de sal, cut in half (not cross-wise, cut it the way they cut hamburger buns)
ketchup (preferably tomato, but whatever floats your boat. or pizza)
left over corned beef ("borrow" your room mate's in the cupboard if you dont have some)
chiz whiz
other left over food that might be lying around. make sure it's still edible.
spoon (make sure it's clean. no, don't make excuses. we all know you're a pig in college)
oven toaster (the one that opens horizontally, NOT the one that pops up toast.)
process
spread some ketchup over the pan de sal. on the what used to be inside, not outside. sprinkle some left over corned beef over the ketchup. and the other left over food. just make sure you'd want to eat it afterward. if you're not sure, then stick with the corned beef. now add some chiz whiz. there's a trick to it so you wont have to spoon it and ruin your corned beef art over the pizza: spoon some in a clean plastic bag, make sure all the chiz whiz goes into a bottom corner. now bite off a tiny piece of that corner (you can cut it with a knife or scissors, but then you would be wasting cheese that would drip off. now squeeze all the chiz whiz unto that corner so it would pour out nicely. put some on your pizza. hold on, we're almost there.
put your pizza into the oven toaster. cook for around two minutes, depending on your style. enjoy!

By the way, are those ingredients for pizza? Pan de sal? Left overs...?
Is this healthy?
