10 kilos of cannabis, 154 grams of cocaine, 54,000 euros, a revolver and knives were confiscated.
Large quantities of cannabis were trafficked in the center of Athens and western Attica, which was dismantled by the West Attica Security Sub-Directorate. In particular, nine people, including two Albanians and seven Greeks, were arrested after an organized operation in the areas of Peristeri, Ilio, St. Petersburg, Megara and Kypseli.
According to the Hellenic Police, the two foreigners played a leading role in the organization, while the rest were responsible for handling the quantities of raw cannabis. Characteristics of the operation of the circuit were, among others: the use of telephone connections issued with data of non-existent persons, code words for drugs, the quantities and the amounts of money they obtained, the use of different names from their real names, taking measures. precautionary measures during meetings with “customers” and the possibility of home delivery of drugs.
At least 246 cannabis and cocaine trafficking operations have been carried out in the last two months, according to a police investigation.
It is noted that during the operation, ten home searches were carried out and three in vehicles, of which 10 kg and 321.6 grams of raw cannabis were found and confiscated, among others: 154.4 grams of cocaine, amount of 54,605 euros, revolver, rifle magazine with 2 cartridges, iron fist and 2 knives.
The detainees were taken to the Athens Public Prosecutor’s Office.
